Alien Ship Sculpture Series

The Alien Series are currently on display as part of Downtown Berkeley Store Front Window Art Program, Allston and Harold Way, Berkeley, California

Mosaic is a “slow art” that contrasts to the frantic pace of life—as such, I invite the viewer to slow down and linger in examining my art pieces. This series was inspired by my son’s interest in aliens when he was in elementary school. The fantasy world of flying saucers captured my imagination because I see it as a vessel for our own illusions, dreams and fears. The pleasing, cast-concrete forms are vaguely sexual in shape. Whimsical use of materials for the mosaic surface, are enhanced by colors, pattern and textures. These pieces are weather resistant. My hope is that the viewer is inspired to ponder his/her alien vessel of emotion.
